A changing Design
Originally the Quilt for Lolo, our God-daughter, was to be just a "Turning 20 Design" collection of Oriental fabrics, as she was adopted from China. However, as time went on the original Oriental Turning 20 Design turned into the back of the quilt and Gail's imaginative new blocks, including some special pictures became the quilt top or front. At the top of the front, there is a picture of Lolo when she was still in China at age 8 months. At the bottom right of the front there is a picture of Lolo as the "Karate Kid" with her Gold Belt, at age 8. She is now going for her black belt. See pictures of Lolo's quilt. We received a lot of help from Bonnie Tise, expert quilter, not only with the quilting, but the border and "applique" of the front design pieces.
